Looking for some photography help!

I'm hoping that Santa will bring me a book to tell me how to use my SLR camera to at least 10% of its potential! Or better still, send me on a course! I'd really love to know how to take a photo of my Christmas tree like this one.

I know there are plenty of amazing amateur photographers out there so if anyone could give me a few pointers I'd very much appreciate it!

  1. I'd love to learn how to use our new DSLR camera better too - there must be some good online tutorials and courses out there...

  2. Heh, that's an easy one. Auto focus off or when autofocused on a nearer object (shutter button half down) then move over to the Xmas tree which is in the distance. Better with someone or your product (partially) in the shot which will remain in focus - luverly ;)

  4. haha I'm too late, :( Well yes - just turn the AF (autofocus) off and manually determine how you'd like the blur on the christmas tree. I wonder how it came out, it's been like a week!! :D
